I&M proposes approximately 50 miles of new 765-kV line between Greentown and Sorenson, with towers
about 180 feet tall and a 180-200-foot right-of-way. Dimensions may vary. Its September 4 announcement
says no final route has been selected; study segments are alternatives.1 You can be affected without an
easement on your land. Views, sound, traffic and runoff can extend beyond an easement. The concerns
below require property-specific review; they are not confirmed effects at every home.

ASK SPECIFIC QUESTIONS. REQUEST WRITTEN ANSWERS.
Questions homeowners can ask project planners
1. Which study segment affects my home, and can I receive a dated property map?
2. How close would wires, towers, anchors and work areas be to my house and yard?
3. What alternatives farther from homes were evaluated, and why were they rejected?
4. What noise is predicted in dry and wet weather compared with existing nighttime conditions?
5. Which trees would be removed, and what screening could remain or be replaced?
6. Where would construction roads, staging areas and permanent access be located?
7. How will drainage, wells, septic areas, ponds and culverts be protected?
8. What electric- and magnetic-field levels are predicted at my home and outdoor living areas?
9. What rights, restrictions or agreements would apply to my property?
10. How will adjacent owners' concerns, damage claims and mitigation requests receive written answers?

How to raise a concern with local officials
1. Contact the office first. Describe the issue and ask which department or board has authority to review it.
2. For a meeting, confirm the date, agenda, speaker sign-up, time limit and written-submission procedure. Follow the meeting rules.
3. Provide your name, affected location and study-segment number, if known. Describe observations, attach a dated map or
photos, and state the question or review you are requesting.
4. Ask how to submit materials for the record and receive a response. Keep copies and follow up with the office. County comments
